Skunk Zone (Document Sharing)

As part of Skunkworks Robotics effort to help other robotics teams, we have created the Skunk Zone. It is a place where the Skunks can post documents for the expressed purpose of making them available to others. You are welcome to reuse these documents. If you find any errors or have suggestions, please let us know via the Contact Us link. Use the buttons below to go directly to a specific section.

Operating Materials

Below are our team operating documents compiled by students with help from our mentors:

Safety and Health Plan

The Skunks do know how to have fun for sure, but they are even more knowledgeable about staying safe, as getting hurt is no fun at all. We take safety and security very seriously. Our safety team has compiled a presentation that goes over the many things we do to keep ourselves in good health, as well as emphasizing how important safety is to the team.

Business Plan

Our team is always growing in numbers and improving our overall development of the team. Our business plan tells exactly how we gain experience and pass on to our new team members. You can read about our fundraising, our overall objective, and a brief history of the team.

Management Plan

We also like to keep ourselves as organized as possible, so we keep up to date on what's going on inside and outside of the workshop. The management plan we wrote explains the overall structure of the team, from our student teams to our annual spaghetti dinner and our community outreach.

Scouting Plan

Some people may think that we build our robots and strategies all by ourselves, but we actually gather information from other teams as well. We do this to get even more ideas for our robots and find out ways to counter those strategies and designs. Our scouting team does this task by researching teams before regionals and visiting the pits during competitions.

Training Materials

Tool Kit

Robots can be made in an infinite number of ways. The tool kit describes our concept design and past competition designs with details and strategies. We try to build robots that best suit the team's strategies and the game that is going to be played.

System Programming

Our robots don't move as soon as we finish building them. They need to be programmed so that the correct controls are installed on them. That task is up to our programming team. This team of students read and write programming code and pass this skill on to our rookies.

Fundraising

We don't go to our regional competitions and championships for free. We also don't get those robot parts for free. We need quite a bit of money for these requirements. So where do we get that cash? Fundraising! There are many supporters of our team, and some of them are even willing to donate to our cause.

The Build Season

After the new season starts off with the FRC Kickoff, teams from all over the nation must learn the new game, create the best strategy, and build the best robot in only six weeks. This time period is the build season. The skunks meet almost every day during this time in order to finish building and strategizing.

Game Posters

Skunkworks Robotics created these posters that explain the BreakAway game and lists dates for our local regionals. Available as a PDF in three sizes. Feel free to print out the posters and use them in your school, business or on your web site.
